New Year, New Goals

I'm too lazy to make New Year's resolutions. Honestly I've had the same one for most of my life now: "Have more fun than last year, but save more money". I will only comment that the first half is always accomplished, and will say no more of the rest.

This year seems to have made it's own resolution to make me dance harder and experiment more in the design room.

My long awaited fancy for making men's Latin shirts has found another victim. I took this month to finally get back to experimenting on guys again. It's a fun detour.

The girls had their share of new dresses this month. I designed this pink and purple Smooth/Standard gown to get rid of unwanted fabric. I gave it to my student to complete from scratch and she fell in love with it. I let her keep it.

The rest were random whims that became reality: Too much orange fabric and someone who wanted an orange dress; a brown skirt that was impossible to matching a top to became a dress; a downtown shopping spree were Hannanh found the perfect fabric she wasn't even looking for.

Sue and Alex performed an Argentine tango in their new outfits together.

Anyway, I'd better get back to work now. There's nothing like coming back from the holidays to find this board staring down at you. The 2018 Smooth/Standard gowns want to be born! I'm also sprucing up the website to prepare for a new chapter in the Sury Design's story: rentals. Stay Tuned!
